Do you remember when Swastika Laundries were a going concern in Dublin? I have a distant, not entirely convincing memory of their being a huge chimney in Ballsbridge with SWASTIKA written down the side of it, possibly with actual swastikas on it. The internet reveals some actual photos of Swastika Laundries vans (mostly on van enthusiast or right-winger websites).
I have heard that in the 1930s, someone suggested to the proprietor of Swastika Laundries that the rise of the Nazis made his company's name somewhat inappropriate. His retort - "My laundries were going before anyone had heard of that Mr Hitler, and they'll be going after we've seen the last of him as well".
I did a Google search of Swastika Laundries and came across a rather nasty far right forum called Stormfront Ireland. However, most of the post were submitted by Americans. Shitheads.
