Ugliest sports jersey

No offence to the followers of the Scallion Eaters, but I think that the Carlow GAA jersey has to be the most offensive to the eyes I've ever seen. It looks like it was inspired by an ice pop or those Refreshers sweets.

I may be biased, but I don't think you can beat the sky blue and navy of the Dubs or the red and white of the Arsenal.

Desmond Dekker: 'The Israelites'

This is actually a much faster version from 1980. While I like the original as well, this version has undoubtedly been influenced by the two tone ska that was popular at the time.

I've been listening to song over and over, I like it that much - and annoying my wife in the process! I love uptempo beat and chunky bass line. I love the fact that as Dekker's Jamacian accent is so strong, I can only make out, "the Israelite". I had to look up the lyrics on the internet to decipher the rest.

I've been listening to The Specials a lot recently. What initially attracted me to them and other two tone outfits were their punk influences, but I'm beginning to like the reggae elements more and more.

Defrauded!

Some c*nt got my credit card details and attempted to make payments on it today. I wouldn't have known unless the kind man from Visa rang me up today and asked me whether I had actually paid for anything today, which I hadn't. There were four payments to a company based in Germany for approximately €300 each. Thankfully, it looks like I won't have to pay for these.

I don’t know whether my card was skimmed or whether someone got the detail over the net. Perhaps my spyware isn’t that good. Can anyone recommend a free or cheap one? Anyway, I’m going to read my credit card bills much more thoroughly in future.

Bugger off, rain!

The inclement weather is starting to piss me off. This is because I can't wear a pair of shoes I like, as one of them as a hole in the sole, which lets water in.

A cause for celebration

My wife passed her driving test today. Hurrah! She doesn't have to feel guilty driving to work on the M1 anymore. I, on the other hand, haven't driven for over three months. Shame on me!

England introduces smoking ban

England has followed the rest of the UK and introduceda smoking ban in enclosed public places, including pubs and restaurants. It's about fucking time. Now I can enjoy myself when I go out in Manchester in a month's time.
